Product Description

The Kpanlogo is a traditional conga-shaped drum in Ghana, where it is used extensively to accompany the Kpanlogo dance of the Ewe tribe. It is made with a variety of skins, each giving it a unique sound quality. It is often made with a cow skin, but sometimes it is made with antelope or goat skin. You can raise the drum off the floor with your legs as you play it, changing the tone considerably. As with other drums, you can play deep bass tones, open tones near the edge of the drum, or even "slaps. Made of schwenoha wood, each drum has adinkra symbols carved into the sides. 10" tall, 8" diameter.
